About the Relationship

In Ayashi no Ceres, Aya Mikage was living a normal life until her 16th birthday, when it was revealed that she is the reincarnation of Ceres, a tennyo (celestial maiden) out for revenge against the entire Mikage family - the descendants of Shiso, the one who stole Ceres's hagoromo (feather robes). Now it's up to Aya to find Ceres's hagoromo so Ceres could finally return to heaven and rest in peace. Meanwhile, Aya's life will return to normal once this happens.

This relationship shows the two characters as opposites, personality-wise. Aya is cheerful, carefree, and friendly, while Ceres is vengeful, cold, and won't hesitate to kill someone who gets in the way of finding her beloved hagoromo. With Ceres around, it doesn't make things any easier for Aya. It's especially true when her alter ego would always try and kill Aki - Aya's twin brother and the reincarnation of Shiso. However, as the series moves on, the two girls became closer. Aya couldn't help but feel sorry for Ceres since her celestial counterpart wanted to go home in heaven and was never fond of the love concept. At least through Aya's relationship with Tooya, Ceres began to feel compationate. Also, whenever Aya is in grave danger, Ceres would always try and protect her. So basically, their personalities compliment each other. =3 It's like the ying-yang concept in this relationship, which is what I always liked.

"Resemblance"? Well, these two resemble each other! Just look at their facial structure. xD Aya is, afterall, the reincarnation of the beautiful, but deadly tennyo.
